Hi all, I went back to my doctors today and spoke to him about going back on allopurinal. That was this morning and although I told him I still had a dull ache in my toe he said it wouldn't be a problem and to start taking it straight away, come this afternoon I can feel the pain getting worse already !! Is this because I started while I was still suffering from a previous attack and should I stop until its totally cleared up ? I said to him about a prescription for cholchicine but he seemed very against giving this to me and just said to keep taking 1 tablet 3 times a day of diclofenac !!
To be honest I'd been just taking 2 tablets when the pain got unbearable but he told me it would take time to get into my system, I wasn't told this before and had been taking them the same as a normal headache tablet !! Would this be why I didn't feel much relief from diclofenac? Does it normally work for others ?
Thanks in advance and sorry for all the questions

My first doctor who gave me allopurinal did not subscribed me with Colchicine which lead me to a big attack.
I saw another doctor and she said I have to take Colchicine for the first few months of Allopurinol treatment. she also said I have to stop taking Allopurinol immediately as it will just the situation worse. I have to take Celebrax and Colchicine for a few weeks to make sure no inflammation on my feet before I start my treatment again.
Hope you get well soon.
